Summary
As part of the Solutions Engineering team in Grand Rapids you will work closely together with a team of System Designers and Applications Engineers, creating order winning material handling solutions. You will play a key role in supporting the development of TGW Systems US and its sales competency, increasing the team potential to meet the TGW2020 Strategy goals.
Being part of a motivated international team, your job is to represent an expert in Applications Engineering, supporting the local sales team from the first customer contact to the last bidding presentation. With your expertise in mechatronic capabilities of the TGW product portfolio, you significantly influence the layout, costing and presentation of order winning solutions. You work on staying current with the latest in materials handling technology, to keep TGW positioned as a leader in the material handling industry.

Key Responsibilities
• Understand customer’s processes, material flows and requirements
• Create, design and engineer intralogistics layouts, considering technical feasibility, TGW procedures and portfolio
• Performance and related technical calculations
• Align and discuss technical features and feasibility internally with System Designer, Product Management and Realization and externally with potential customers and consultants
• Mechatronic cost calculation
• Specify and request third party buyouts
• Estimator preparation
• Participate in design and cost review meetings
• Prepare proposal documents and support in proposal presentations
• Organize and conduct Applications Engineering related trainings for local associates

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years applications engineering experience or associates degree with equivalent work experience
• Experience in materials handling preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Excel, Access, MSWord, PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD
• Result-orientated and proactive attitude
• Responsible and open minded character
• Willingness to travel 15% of the time for training and customer support
